Did world war 1 lead to world war 2?
NO. There seems to be a rumor that world war 1 was a cause of world war 2 because of the harsh conditions of the treaty of Versailles, but this is only a small thing that did help Germany get mad and slightly helped the the start of ww2 because Germany was mad, but did not cause it. For more info you can Google the question ''Did world war 1 lead to world war 2?''. Hope this helps clarify and stop the rumors. Goodbye everyone, I'll post more later.
Help! Save our Schools! So we can learn about World War One more!
OK, this is non-world war one related but go to http://d300protest.blogspot.com its my friends blog and it focuses on saving our schools and stopping class cutting (note: since its d300 it only applies to d300 but other districts could learn some protests if there classes are being cut)
What started World War One, what occured during it, and the outcome of it.
~1. What caused world war 1: World war 1 happened for many reasons. It is more complicated than a simple list of reasons. A very major cause is the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary, but that will be explained later. First of all, the allies before the war are as follows:
~2. how ww1 was fought: This is a quick note for those interested. Ww1 was fought from trenches, first ever trench warfare. It was an awful was to fight. Laying in a trench with blood, dead bodies, dying people and puke all over you and around you would be absolutely horrible.
~3. equipment and weapons of ww1:
Rifles: Mousers, Springfield 03's, Lee-Enfields, Lebels, Berthiers, Steyr-Mannlichers.
Machine Guns: many were used, about 20, some are the Vickers, Maxim, Spandau and Hotchiss.
Mortars were used.
Grenades: widely used, about 5 different kinds. Many grenade battles took place in ww1.
Tanks: first showed up in ww1
Aircrafts: huge advancements made for the war in Aircrafts
Flamethrowers: LET EM' BURN!!!!!!!
Artillery was used
Many watercraft
poison gas
And more.
Equipment:
Gas masks for poison gas
Chocolate, yes CHOCOLATE, used as both an energy booster and to lift the soldiers morale
Standard military equipment
And more.
~4. How it ended and the outcome:
Well, the 1919 treaty of Versailles officially ended the war. This also lead to the creation of the league of nations. Well, in signing the treaty, Germany accepted full responsibility for the war, had to pay enormous war fines, and give land. Bad for Germany. I'm sorry, I did not mention the Ottoman empire before, but for those who know what it was here:
The Ottoman empire dissolved, and became mainly the republic of Turkey. (The country not the bird)
For those who don't know what it was: it was an empire that sided with Austria-Hungary. Then see above for what happened to it.
Austria-Hungary split into different states, like Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia.
Well, that's the end of my blog, if I learn more I will update, but for now, hope you learned a lot about world war 1, I personally think it's the most interesting war. Bye for now!
