Some info on the weapons of ww1

Some weapons were used very late in the war. Tanks, for instance, were not used until about 1916. Some were used very early, like chlorine gas. here are uses of some weapons.

~rifles and other arms for soldiers: used as main weapons because machine guns were too bulky

~machine guns: may seem devastating but really, they were heavy, bulky, took a good amount of soldiers to operate, and overheated very easily. But towards the end of the war they were improved and became powerful weapons of war.

~flamethrower: used by Germans in 1915 but was quickly widened to other countries. But they could explode, the fuel cells, and had very limited range so these were dangerous considering enemy's had rifles that could fire at about 600 meters (which is really far)

~bayonets: veterans say bayonets were used more as a..... ''decoration'' than actual weapons of war. If so, why did many soldiers use bayonets? Because they were very ideal close combat weapons.

~pistols: issued to officers, military police, and tank operators. When the war began there were three main types of pistol in use: revolvers, clip-loaded automatics and the 'blow-back' models where expanding propellant gas caused the gun to reload by forcing the bolt back when fired.

~poison gas: first used by the french. Gases such as chlorine, phosgene, and what may be the most deadly, Yperite, or mustard gas. (note: in case you didn't know poison gas is now illegal to use in war)
Well that's all for now.
